Hormones & TBI

Individuals with mild TBI may have sustained trauma to one or two centers in the brain which coordinate hormone production in the body, the hypothalamus and the pituitary gland. For many individuals, the long-term symptoms that they experience with mild TBI can be linked to a decrease in production of the following hormones:

- Growth hormone
- Testosterone
- Thyroid hormone
- Cortisol
- Estrogen & Progesterone
