ABOUT US

Our Origins

Our origin story emerged from a combination of opportunity and necessity – camaraderie with veterans seeking medical care, a relationship with organizations committed to supporting their needs, a personal connection with Down’s syndrome and the autistic community, and a long-standing commitment to medical research.

David Socol, MD

Dr. Socol worked at the Boeing Corporation on behalf of a contract holder for 17 years after working as the medical director for a nascent biotechnology company in Long Beach, California and medical director at US Healthworks in Southern California.   During his tenure at Boeing, Dr. Socol trained in functional medicine at the Cenegenics Medical Institute. He then earned credentials to treat mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) using an interventional endocrinology paradigm. Dr. Socol subsequently supported veterans with mTBI under the umbrella of the Brain Treatment Foundation, which ultimately prompted training in functional genomics with the goal of increasing the practice’s ability to restore function and promote improvement in mTBI outcomes. After facilitating the creation of a TBI genomic panel at IntellxxDNA with seed funding from the Brain Treatment Foundation, Dr. Socol began working with beneficiaries of the SEAL Future Foundation (SFF), where he continues to refine a metabolic approach to the management of mTBI and its associated complications in tandem with care for neurodivergent individuals and their families.

In 2020, Dr. Socol returned to the research space with a focus on humeomic technologies for clinical applications.  In 2021 he founded Advanced Humeomics, a nutraceutical company built on a foundation in the humeomic sciences.

Dr. Socol has lectured at a variety of conferences in the United States and Canada at the intersection of metabolics, endocrinology and genomics as it relates to changing outcomes in neurotrauma and neurodegenerative disease, and in the field of clinical humeomics.
